The Quantalk project is a new web-based initiative supported by the European Union via the ERA-Pilot QIST grant. The name Quantalk is a contraction of Quantum Talk. The purpose of the project is to provide the a central facility for open review and discussion of research in quantum information science worldwide. The heart of the site is the Articles section, where we provide our three main features:
Open scientific discussion of the latest research in quantum information. The system here will be familiar to those who use forum systems or blogs, but it differs in its approach to permanence and accountability.
A community review process, called open peer review, to which authors may submit their work. This feature is not available during the current beta test of quantalk.org.
An open archive where authors can deposit digital material that they wish to make available to the community. During the beta phase, hosting is restricted to PDF documents.
The following pages provide a full overview of each key aspect: scientific discussion, open peer review, document hosting.
Note that our sister site quantiki.org was also created with support from ERA-Pilot QIST funds.
